Best ATMs in HCMC to withdraw large sums of money?

Bump - hopefully I figure it out by tomorrow ;_;

I did some google searches and it seems the $2 million dong ATM withdrawal limit was put into effect sometime early 2013. Most of the information I found pertained 2012-2013 but the person that posted on January 2015 said Commonwealth bank gives out $10 million dong.

Gathering from the google searches it seems most say Commonwealth bank gives $8 million dong and Citibank gives $3 million dong or $8 million dong depending on where their ATM is located. Citibank also doesn't charge ATM fees. I'm guessing local ATM fees.

In any case if you find one that gives large amount greater than $2 million it would be really helpful to me if you post the location and bank's name. I don't get charged ATM fees from my home bank.

For an international; account, not sure. BUT they usually have the list of fees/limit posted on the wall in/next to the ATM.

From what I remember seeing the "international banks" seem to have large limits , eg HSBC, CommBank, CitiBank, ANZ.

Also , and this is based on only a couple of observations,  the limits AND bank fee VARY depending on location for Local and International cards.
Ie An ATM in D1 might have a higher limit but also have higher fees.
There is an ACB atm in Khumo plaza that wants to charge 20,000 for a local withdrawal. Usually its under 10,000 at other ATMs.
(the last comments are very speculative and I have not done enough txns to be sure)

Just another comment taking money out of your account is nearly the worst way to do it.  If its your only option or for just a few times then I understand. Long term a local bank account is best to transfer into. OR transfer into someone elses account (including Landlords)

Get an account with a local bank and be able to withdraw more money, I use HD Bank and withdraw up to 20 million at a time.

Thanks for the knowledge, guys. I found a commonwealth bank ATM that allowed me to withdraw 9 million dong no problem. Just had to select multi something as an option.

I like the Citibank ATM on the north side of Hai Bà Trưng at Nguyễn Đình Chiểu (northeast area of District 1, towards Tăn Dịnh).
With my Schwab Bank (US) card, Withdraw from Checking, it shows 8 big buttons, 1M - 8M VND. Simple.

To find more ATMs, open Google Maps in a desktop browser or IPhone, enter "Citibank ATM, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam", and it shows a list of locations to click. Works for Commonwealth too, probably others.

I'd go for Citibank

I have ever withdrawal VND 10,000 using ANZ ATM located at Saigon Center

sorry for the delayed response. it's in the backpacker area. there is a commonwealth atm across the park from le loi/lai? street. probably around the middle of the park. hope that helps.

As of 2024 January, HSBC ATM next to Buu Dien (main post office) inside tall bank building were operational and allow withdrawals for 10 Million. CITI and Commonwealth bank ATMs are no more. ( check Google comments for latest reviews for latest updates)

Sacombank ATMs often do 10 mil withdrawals.
