Ambien and Cialis

Can I get generic Ambien (Zolpidem) and generic Cialis (Tadalafil) over the counter in Vietnam? If so, what is the approximate cost for 20mg generic Cialis and 10mg generic Ambien?

A pack of 2 - 10 mg tabs of generic tadalafil (Stella or Stada brand) runs ₫30,000 VNĐ

FYI: Regular use of Ambien may increase the need for Tadalafil:

“Anything that depresses nerves, such as Xanax (alprazolam), Ativan (lorazepam), Valium (diazepam), alcohol, and any of the sleep aids often impact erectile function,”

https://medshadow.org/5-common-medications-associated-erectile-dysfunction/

@john gord generic Cialis costs 33,000 Vdn (USD $1.39) for 20 milligrams

Thanks for the Cialis info.

Anyone know about the availability of generic Ambien and cost? Generic name Zolpidem. Also goes by cheaper name brand Stilnox. I am aware of the effects and contradictions, so not looking for any medical advice thanks.

Welcome to the forum, John.

Once you create a thread on the forum, you generally don't have control over the replies, unless they are off topic or in Violation of the Forum Code of Conduct (which I'm sure you read thoroughly before posting here).

While I tend to agree with you that medical advice usually shouldn't be given unless requested, expat.com team members are always aware that every thread becomes searchable and subject to being read by future casual readers.

Had you created a single thread asking about an ED med and a separate thread inquiring about zolpidem, I wouldn't have seen the need to include the disclaimer.

However, in my opinion, if the thread you started is going to remain active and visible/searchable here, it seems appropriate to point out to the casual reader that combining these two meds is not always advisable.

You are always free to report a reply if you feel it's unnecessary.

Admin would make the final determination.

(I would have done the same thing if someone asked about uppers and downers in the same thread).

Cheers!

@john gord So Ambien isn't here except for maybe Vinmec and it's the same price as the US. I got a fractured collar bone and they gave me Percocet for 5$ a pop.

The closest thing you can find is diazepam @ about 8000 for 10mg

There's a form of Cialis here that's really good it's blue... I don't depend on them it just makes things more fun. They're dirt cheap and I found a wholesale place that thinks my wife is a pharmacist.

Besides the ED usage Cialis is excellent for BPE or Benign Prostate Enlargement which often manifests itself as too frequent nightly urination.  I used to take the Stada card you mention above but had to cut the pills in half as the dosage for this use is 5mg daily. I believe it functions by softening the prostate. Although a prescription was not needed, I took it in consultation with my urologist. We settled on Tadalafil after we tried a few other special for BPE medications that did not work as well.  Also the other meds were hormonal and had potential negative side effects.  The side effect of Tadalafil is positive. :-). Generic Tadalafil if now available in the US but there is great variation in pricing.

Also, Tadalafil lowers blood pressure somewhat.

That might be a good thing for some people, but it can be a bad thing for others.

Zopiclone is available for around 30k for 10 tablets. Z-class like Zolpidem so should be fine - I prefer it, but each to their own...

Turns out this forum has given me some bad info. I'm in Vietnam now and generic Ambien (Zolpidem) is widely available here, contrary to what multiple people said in this thread. They had it in the first pharmacy I went to, and the 2nd, and the 3rd etc. They all seem to have it as far as I can tell. A pharmacy next to Ben Thanh market gave me a price of 620,000 VND for 20 x 10mg which seems kind of high. I can probably get it cheaper in less touristy areas.

Perhaps so.

It's also possible that the availability near  Chợ Bến Thành is driven by foreigner/tourist demand.

It's been my experience throughout the country that some items easily found at pharmacies in foreigner-friendly areas are scarce or unavailable elsewhere.

I'm glad you were able to determine that the pills you purchased were not counterfeit.

Are you serious!

One person said you couldnt get it, but you found it without a problem

Get over it.

I haven't purchased any yet. Why do you seem to always try redirect by answering questions that were never asked?

Get over what?  I found what I am looking for so what is there to get over? Now I am trying to tell others the correct info so they are also not misled.  Seems you are the one having issues getting over my comment and now calling the kettle black.

What was the point in saying the forum gave you the wrong info. Why not just say "I found it easy to buy"

You mean, you weren't able to determine if they were genuine or counterfeit?

Is that why you took the time to find zolpidem in THREE different pharmacies but refused to buy any?

What was it that made you suspicious?

@john gord Cialis 30 20mg for 750

Diazepam 10mg for sleep 5k each. But this is prescription medication and for very short term use. Ambien isn't always the best option.

DEA: Diet, Exercise, Attitude. Stopped all that crap after moving to VN. or AED, same thing. However, must have eye drops to lower pressure in eyes due to glaucoma, ... and OH! must have coffee.

Have you tried to stop drinking water and coffee after 2 PM?
