I have been living in Bangkok for 15 years and I've had a maid throughout my time there.......I have a few queries regarding hiring in KL;
a) Is it safe to hire off the internet or better to go through an Agency?
b)How much should I pay (monthly) for a Live-in maid (someone who can cook and clean) working either 5 or 6 days/week? Looking after 1 person most of the time.
c) Do most domestic workers seek Live-in or is Live-out the norm?
d) Are they usually locals or Filipinas, Burmese, Nepalese, Thai?
e) Is it necessary for them to be legal? Here in Bangkok there is a huge filipina community working as domestic workers and they are all working illegally. Domestic work is a banned profession here for filipinas but the authorities turn a blind eye. Is it a similar set up in KL?
