Car registration in Denmark

Hi,

I will be moving to Denmark (Odense). I have a car registered in my home country. I know that I will need to register my car in Denmark. However, registration tax seems to be insanely high. It is 60% or even more of the car's value.

Can anyone advise me if there are any alternative available options? I need to have a car because I need drive to my home country from time to time. I thought about selling my car in my home country and buying new car in Denmark, but I think I won't have already enough credit score do to it.

Thank you

If importing your car costs are too high (tax etc...) which is often the case. The option is to sell it in Poland and buy a car in Denmark.

Thanks. It is one of the option I put under consideration. This registration tax is just insane. 1f600.svg

Hi,

You can get to know how much the registration fee will amount to beforehand

https://motorst.dk/en-us/individuals/importing-vehicles

and you can get an impression of how much a used car will cost if you buy another one in Denmark

Thank you. I will be trying to get a temporary permit just to be able to transport my stuff and then after some time get my car back to my home country and sell it. In Denmark we will try to get new car in leasing or normal bank credit.

The car sellers can also offer you a loan via a financial lender. Such loans may be cheaper than those of the banks.

Regarding a bank loan, this site may be useful, too. https://www.mybanker.dk/ansoeg-om-laan/
