Fishing in HCM

Sorry, i am a fishing craze.  Would like to know where i can fish near or in HCM Quan1.   I used to go Quan12 but not exciting anymore.   Fresh water is ok.   Also looking for salt water fishing elsewhere.  Anyone can advice?

This is what I have found so far. I am looking for the same thing as you are. I hope this helps.

Highside's suggestions seem to be all stocked ponds, some of them set up as a feature in a restaurant.  To me that sounds like "shooting fish in a barrel."

On the other hand are you actually eating fish that come out of any of the rivers around HCM?  Even Dong Nai sounds a little iffy unless you get way past Bien Hoa.

Thanks Highside!!!!

I practice catch and release even in paid ponds

Quick question - do they provide simple fishing gear (spinning reel), sinker, rigs, hooks etc at these places or are you expected to show up with your own fishing gear ready?

If i am not wrong, the restaurant provides simple bamboo rod with 1 hook.   As for the fishing ponds and others, you will have to bring your own.    I normally would use my travel rod 10 to 12 lbs with a 2000 reels is good enough for ponds and restaurant with braid lines.     Just bring some hooks and small little weight will do.   For most ponds, they use 6 hooks with big chunks of bait which is heavy and need a heavy rod

hello my fellow singaporean angler friend, thanks for the info!

It been a while i have not get in here.   I am eager to set up a fishing pond and restaurant preferable in Dong Nai, Bien Hoa or Trang Bom area and also a fishing tackle shop.   Anyone got any information in regards to this?

Hi, Hein Lombard here. Awesome list of venues. Perhaps you know of a tackle shop in Bien Hoa City where i can get fly rod, reel, line and flies? All my stuff back in SA. Best regards
Hein
