(French follows)
Hi, I am new to this forum, from Canada, and plan to go for 1.5 year in Vietnam and South-East Asia with my husband.
I take 2 medicines for my epilepsy: Lamotrigine (brand name Lamictal) and Lacosamide (brand name Vimpat). I have a prescription from a neurologue doctor in Canada and here with medicare, the government pays a part of these medication. I can get 6 months of those before I leave BUT my question is what should I do once in Vietnam to get the rest?
Is it possible to buy those with a Canadian prescription?
Should I try to meet a local doctor to obtain a prescription?
Are those two medications available in Vietnam (Lacosamide is not so common)?
How much would cost those specific medications (Lacosamide would be quite expensive without my medicare)?
If anyone knows about it or knows where I could find those information, please help
Thanks,
Isabelle
