Hello,

I am Sinead Daly, an integrative psychotherapist from Ireland. I have had Healthy Choices as a therapy practice for more then a quarter of a century. Having been an expat myself in Amsterdam, I understand the issues foreigners face when trying to find their way in another country, without the support systems they had at home. After helping hundreds of hundreds of clients as a registered psychotherapist in the Netherlands, I have changed my practice name to Expat Therapy and moved to Spain, where I continue to treat my expat clients in Amsterdam while also conducting therapy sessions with people in the USA, Latin America, Korea, Romania and Spain. I treat all the usual problems clients contend with, such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, imposter syndrome, relationship problems, nervous breakdowns, addiction, trauma, mid-life crises, work related issues etc. All of these problems can be intensified by the disorientation caused by uprooting yourself from your home country and trying to settle in a new place.

With a broad background in health care, both physical and psychological, my approach will be somewhat different from what you may have experienced in the past. Sessions with me will be open and personal, asking searching questions to find the answers from within, examining coping strategies that no longer serve you, processing stuck emotions and finding or creating support systems to help you move forward into happiness and stability.

My approach is practical and I use interventions from different schools of therapy to get to the root of the problem as quickly as possible, so that we can then focus on the healing process and on personal growth.

My move to the province of Malaga has brought me more insights into another culture with its specific issues and challenges for expats. Understanding day to day life in a Latin country has allowed me to help my Latin clients better, but also other nationalities living in Latin cultures.
