TherapistLiving in a new country can be exciting, but it also comes with unique challenges. As an expat or foreigner in The Netherlands, you may find yourself facing feelings of loneliness, uncertainty and isolation. It is completely normal to feel this way, being away from family and your support structures can bring up a multitude of emotions... but you do not need to face these challenges alone. I can offer you support to work towards not only just surviving in a new country, but thriving!
I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and a member of The Dutch Association of Psychologists (NIP). In my practice, I recognize that every individual brings a unique set of experiences, challenges and strengths to therapy. An Integrative Approach based on personalized treatment planning and client-centred collaboration provides a framework through which I am able to appreciate the complexities of human experiences and support my clients in achieving their goals.
An Integrative Approach combines elements of different theoretical frameworks and modalities within psychology such as, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic approaches, mindfulness approaches and more, to tailor therapy methods that best suit the client's needs and goals.
I offer online and in person therapy from Amsterdam.
