Weekend getaway to Wenchi Crater Lake for March 28th, 2021
Morning at 6:30AM meet at friend ship super market bole and start, drive to Wenchi at 7:00AM we reach Wenchi after entrance and parking joining the obligatory guide at the Wenchi Eco Tourism Association office, we drive uphill to reach the departure point. You have the option of hiking the 4 km to the lake shore on your own or descending on horseback. The downhill trek is full of varied greens on the hillsides and the lake’s surface. After an hour and a couple of villages, a field opens to the shore and a small dock. “Deber”, an island with a monastery. Some goats roam the island and the local birds have caught on to the daily picnickers that visit “Deber” After the monastery visit, hike or take a horse back to the top of the crater.
