Hi, I am looking for 1-2-3 people experienced in alpine winter climbing to go to Mt. Fuji on the weekend 25-27.02.2023.
If I don't find anybody, I will go alone. I have all usual alpine ice equipment with me except for a rope (which as I know is not needed there).
My experience is glacier hiking in the Swiss and Austrian Alps, easy mountains such as Breithorn or Wildspitze. I will go to Sato Goya hut on Sat. 25.02. and will stay there over one or two nights looking for a time slot with low wind on top of Fuji. Then I'll go up.
If you like to join me please write about your hiking experience before. You'll need all winter equipment (crampons, climbing belt, carabiners, ice screws, helmet, ice pickle, etc. very good winter clothes). And you need to be very fit - it is 20 km one way and around 2900 m height from valley to summit.
And a Sato Goya hut reservation ).
Hope to hear from you!
Eugen.
