Spanish Introductory Session

ARE YOU MOVING TO COSTA RICA? ARE YOU LIVING IN COSTA RICA?

A common question among people deciding to come and live in Costa Rica, or even people already living here, is whether they should study Spanish.

And it is possible to find several answers to that question, and it is obvious that me being a Spanish teacher, I am going to say that you have to study Spanish if you decide to live in our country. However, I want to answer this question with my students’ answers concerning studying Spanish.

Some foreigners consider that they can live in Costa Rica without speaking Spanish, but many more agree that learning and speaking Spanish was very important to them when they were in our country. Many decide to retire and live in Costa Rica forever, but others are here for work reasons. They all say that speaking Spanish has made their lifestyle more accessible. They all want to learn about our culture and enjoy every moment they can speak Spanish.

This is how my five-finger system to learn Spanish was born. The student will use this methodology to learn how to make Spanish sentences from the first day of classes.

Step by step, students learn how to use the system; they will learn to use the 77 most important verbs and vocabulary related to everyday situations. At the end of the first block of classes, the student will communicate in the present, past, and future, building sentences and conversations and asking and responding effectively.

Many students in recent years have been able to learn Spanish using this system. Today I want to invite you to be part of this thriving group of people who allowed themselves to learn Spanish differently.
