Music as you've never experienced it before
Avant-garde and daring - that's how you could describe Cécile Schott aka Colleen, a French artist constantly on the lookout for new ways to reinvent herself and create music. Sometimes pushing back the boundaries of instruments by rethinking the way she plays them, sometimes exploring electronic music, sometimes mixing the two, Colleen always creates a unique aural experience that leaves no one indifferent.
With compositions ranging from the mysterious and contemplative to the kinetic and playful, the artist has given over 230 concerts in Europe, the United States, Japan, Brazil and Singapore, in prestigious venues and festivals. Between 2003 and 2021, she released seven critically acclaimed albums on the Thrill Jockey label, all of which bear witness to her unique way of imagining music.
Her latest album, 'Le jour et la nuit du réel', aims to translate, through a myriad of sonic transformations, the complexity of our relationship with reality, and its psychological mutations through the cycles of day and night.
