I'm sharing an event found on Facebook:
"Free walking tour (English). This event is directed towards Non-Romanian speakers/foreigners living in Galați.
We are a bunch of guys in love with our homecity and our aim is to make our guests feel the same. That's why we wrote to Annalisa - an Italian Erasmus student (we found her on Instagram) to ask her if she's interested in spending an afternoon to discover the local misteries. She wrote back saying she, together with other Italian friends (students), would be thrilled to join such an event.
Galați used to be a cosmopolitan city a hundred years ago and we have to prove we didn't forget how to make our guests feel welcomed. We chose for this action a walk on the streets of the old town (Domnească, Mihai Bravu, Nicolae Bălcescu, Eroilor, Gării etc.), between the neoclassical and la belle epoque houses. We'll admire the legacy of local minorities (Greeks, Jews, Lipovans, Germans, Bulgarians, Italians, Armenians, Turks etc.) and we'll speak about their impression on our society.
This tour follows our previous efforts and it's confirming our goals once again - to bring to light the local history and to make the community aware of the local cultural potential.
We're strongly recommending you to share the event with your friends. If required, we can provide assistance in French.
WARNING: Most likely to end up in a pub."
