Wesminster Ensemble - Concert 10 March 2018

The Westminster Ensemble is an elite youth choir hailing from The Westminster Schools, Atlanta, Georgia. Students who are accepted into the Westminster Ensemble pass a rigorous audition, and student singers in the Ensemble continue on to pursue further study and professional activity in musical theatre, vocal performance, and choral music. The ensemble performs sacred music from the Renaissance to the present day as well as more contemporary music from sources as diverse as Gregorian chant, Appalachian folk tunes, African-American spirituals, American musical theatre, and other popular repertoire. Every year, the choir embarks on a concert tour during spring break; over the last few years, they have performed in London, Oxford, Prague, Rome, Florence, Berlin, Vienna, Normandy and Paris. This year’s spring trip will take them to Spain where they will sing choral music of workhip from the early 16th century to the present day, in Latin, Spanish and English.
