Constantin Macherel new cello recital

Constantin Macherel, cellist, offers a unique recital including the whole Ricercari by D.Gabrielli's Ricercari, probably the first major work for solo cello, written much before Bach suites. This magnificent, mysterious and rarely performed work will be performed by a first class young musician.
In the second part of the concert, one of the major works for solo cello of the 20th century, the 1st suite op.72 by B.Britten written for the eminent Mstislav Rostrpovitch.
