1st time visitor to PP

Hi All,

I'm arriving PP on 8Feb. It's my 1st visit to PP. Have read a lot about safety issues in PP. Would appreciate any advice on places to avoid. What's the going rate for pickups at the riverside area. Is the Russian market worth a visit at all? Is it anything like the Ben Thanh market in HCM. I'm an expat living in HCM.

What do you mean for "pick ups at the riverside"?

Russian Market is a wonderful market for all kinds of everything -- from shimmering silk scarves to carved wooded Buddhas, housewares, freshly cooked food and clothing. Similar in some ways to Ben Thanh Market but without the aggressive vendors.

I've lived here for three years with my husband and had little cause for feeling unsafe (other than having a bag snatched while walking along a street). Take precautions as you would in any city - don't be abusive, drunk, walk home at 2am after a night on the town, watch out for traffic and don't carry valuables.
