What is it like being retired in the Bantayan islands?

Jackson4

I am writing my plan to retire with my wife in the (quite) near future around the Bantayan islands, Cebu.
Not having been or lived around the Visayas area before retirement, there is nothing I can base my expectations on, let alone inaccurate assumptions on retired life over there. G00gle is my main source of (mis)information. :P
Upon moving there, I am sure everything will be fun and exciting but this excitement might wane within a few short months or so, maybe. That is scary.
I am trying make a feel how retirees do it? How do you keep yourself occupied?

I think the excitement will wane quickly on Bantayan.. it's a small island and I expect you will run out of things to do in a couple of weeks (or less). Don't get me wrong - it's very peaceful, and beautiful, and the beach is pristine, but it's just a really small place. You can drive around the whole island in half a day.
