Entering sg as foreigner

Does any of you have tried to write a letter to ICA and gain approval to enter Singapore? I have applied to many data analyst jobs and all of them ask me that I need to be in Singapore to be considered. Most sg companies also don’t accept remote work.

Only the employer, after approval of your work pass, can apply for entry approval.
Due to the pandemic, only essential workers are currently allowed into the country.
Thus employers in other sectors, sensibly, do not hire foreigners right now.
You better try again after the crisis recedes and restrictions are lifted.
