L Card- Spouse

Hi,

I have been working in Belgium for the past six years and have recently applied for an L card. However, as I am on secondment/posted worker status, I am uncertain about my eligibility for the L card, especially since my social security contributions only began in August 2023.

Additionally, my wife, who has been with me here in Antwerp for the same duration, has started working for a local company in August 2023. I would like to inquire if she is eligible to apply for an L card as my dependent.

In the event that my own L card application is rejected, I am evaluating the possibility of reapplying for it if my wife were to receive her L card. I am unsure if this course of action is allowed or makes sense.

Any insights?
