Can I pay my taxes in the U.S., deduct the interest ?

Victor 1267

Hello

I just moved to France after living for some years in the U.S.

I own an apartment in the U.S. that has a mortgage.

I want to rent out the U.S. apartment, but I have a question because apparently in France it’s not possible to deduct mortgage interest.

I know that in the U.S., it’s possible to deduct mortgage interest from the rental income.

Question:

Has anyone from the U.S. experienced this?

Can I pay my taxes in the U.S., deduct the interest there…

And then pay the difference in France?

Can someone give advice?

Thanks!
