Besides Cairo and Alexandria, Aswan is also a major Egyptian city. If you intend to settle and work there, here is how to proceed to find a job.
Located at some 840 km from the South of Cairo, on the right bank of the Nile River, Aswan is one of the biggest Egyptian cities with a population of nearly 250,000 inhabitants. Thanks to the presence of its international airport, it is deemed to be a key tourist destination. The city also provides many opportunities to expatriates wishing to settle and work there.
Economy
The local economy is mainly driven by agriculture and tourism. Indeed, the city greatly relies upon tourism, especially thanks to its international airport, as well as several cruises along the Nile River, namely from Luxor, on the Nasser Lake, etc. Hence, you are more likely to be hired in the tourism industry if you have the required qualifications and skills.
Aswan also hosts many hotels and restaurants which greatly contribute to its economic dynamism.
Find a job
Finding a job in Aswan may not be as easy as it seems, especially if you are not yet on the spot. Indeed, it is best to start your job search once you have landed in the country. Of course, word of mouth will be of great help if you have friends and contacts on the spot. However, you are advised to be very formal when sending spontaneous job applications to companies in which you are interested.
Consider giving out your contact details to people around you so that they can eventually notify you in case of any job vacancy. Feel free to seek the help of foreign Chambers of Commerce as well. These may redirect you towards companies looking for foreign expertise, or at least particular skills.
Important:
Make sure to write your resume and cover letter in English.
