“It's not what you know, it's who you know" is of particular relevance when you live in Paris. Networking is important in the Parisian labor market and is useful for getting a job or making new and relevant connections in your field.

You'll have to play by these rules if you want to assert yourself in the professional world. As an expat, this may seem daunting, but do not worry!  So how do you start to build your professional network in Paris?

Connect online

To begin with, professional social networks are essential. LinkedIn, for example, is widely used in France to connect you with agencies, professionals and companies that match your experience. Be sure to have an up-to-date profile and to connect with anyone relevant to your job search or field of work either individually or through the wide variety of groups available. Starting a conversation online is a great way to connect with individuals in your field and showcase your expertise.

Find and attend networking events that match you

Coworking for freelancers

These past years, the amount of coworking spaces has grown exponentially in Paris due the rising amount of freelancers and digital nomads. Activate your network
