Doha isn't just about fun and places of interest. Discovering new people to learn and grow through professional networking is a good way of heading towards your own goals in life. Here are some tips for building your professional network as an expatriate in Doha.

Developing your interpersonal skills can be fun when you are enthusiastic about taking part in different networking activities. As the city has been developing significantly over the past years, professional and non-professionals are growing. Every week and month, you will find several activities that focus your interests in business and professional development. You may find these interesting opportunities through different social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. These are reliable enough to answer your enquiries regarding upcoming networking events.

Business groups and organisations in Doha

Qatar Professional Women Network is a Qatar-based organisation managed by a few expatriates, focusing on women in society. QPWN has been actively organising informative workshops and meetings every month for women who are looking to develop their network and career. Personal and career coaching is also available.

American Women's Organization specialises in tailor-made gatherings and events for American Women residing in Doha. However, they also welcome other nationalities who are willing to join in some of their volunteering activities that are held all year round. Likewise, the Indian Women's Association in Qatar is managed by Indian women in Qatar. Meetings and networking events are scheduled periodically.

Canadian Women in Qatar, SASCOM, South African Ladies in Qatar, Tuesday Ladies Group Qatar and the Qatar Business Women Association are other popular groups you can join. If you wish to develop your public speaking skills, reach out to Qatar Toastmaster Club. They are very open and welcoming to people having a sparkling personality.

PEACE Qatar and the Pinoy Expats Auto Club for Enthusiasts are groups intended for automobile experts and hobbyists in Qatar. These especially promote the talents and skills of Philippine nationals in the field of car care and auto design. PEACE Qatar has been actively participating in events and car shows in the city.

QANZBA or the Qatar Australia New Zealand Business Association is active in organising business events in Doha all through the year. Their aim is to introduce the Australians and Kiwi expatriates working and making business in the country. Business aside, Qatar has successful diplomatic relations with these two countries, particularly in dairy exporting and engineering.

The Camara or Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Qatar is a Spanish group of business enthusiasts that opens for possible ventures and opportunities between Qatar and Spain. You will find their page full of business activities that would surely open lavish opportunities for you to network and engage in Hispanic – Arab business world.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Transport and Communication (MOTC) regularly organises programs and workshops for geeks and fresh electronic projects every month.
