Rosario's labor market is very open to expatriates. You can find a job in various sectors if you are moving there.

Rosario is the largest city of the province of Santa Fe in Argentina. It is the third largest Argentine city after Buenos Aires and Cordoba. It should not be very difficult for you to find a job there. Numerous job opportunities exist as the city hosts several large multinational companies as well as national and international companies which create thousands of new jobs each year.

Most of Rosario's inhabitants are expatriates: Spanish, Italian, French, German and Swiss among others.

Economy

Being a port city, Rosario serves not only the province of Santa Fe but also the surrounding areas, including Cordoba and Entre Rios. Its economy is the second contributor to Argentina's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It is primarily based on the food industry, textiles, metal and mechanical industry, automotive industry, petrochemical and steel production, etc. Several multinationals, including General Motors, ICI, Petrobras and Dow, among others operating in the region since a few years. These also contribute to the city's economic growth.

Rosario is also known to be the country's and the continent's largest technological center. The area has experienced strong economic growth through information and communications technology, biotechnology and software development. These are expected to create more thousands of jobs by 2015.

The construction sector has also experienced strong growth over the past few years: office buildings and housing are under construction all across the city.

Job search

Expatriates are likely to find a job in the fields of information and communication technology, food, automotive, construction, finance and even chemistry through the development of sulfuric acid treatment plants. Moreover, the city has many national and international banks, as well as a flourishing insurance sector. You can also be hired in sectors such as refrigerators, agricultural equipment and machinery, mineral oil manufacturing.

There is nothing easier than visiting job websites and checking classified advertisements in local newspapers to find a job in Rosario. You may also consult a recruitment agency or seek assistance through word-of-mouth.
