Experience Authentic Rural China: Stay in Baixi Village, Home of Peking University's Founder
Changsha, Hunan
Immerse yourself in the tranquility of Baixi Village by staying in a home built from a son's devotion to his father. Constructed using my scholarship savings during graduate studies in the U.S., this house stands as a tribute to my father, who passed away in 2024. Now, as I work in the U.S., I invite travelers to experience authentic rural Chinese life here. Baixi Village is named after Zhang Baixi, a distinguished official of the late Qing Dynasty, celebrated for initiating educational reforms and serving as the founder of Peking University. Located in Chunhua Town, just a 30-minute drive from Changsha City, our village offers a peaceful escape from urban life. Chunhua Town is renowned for its agricultural significance and is the hometown and workplace of Yuan Longping, the esteemed "Father of Hybrid Rice," whose innovations have helped feed millions worldwide. You'll experience the warmth of village life and connect with the legacies of pioneers who have shapred China's landscapes.
