Registered Nurse Midwife
The Registered Nurse Midwife (RN-Midwife) is a licensed healthcare professional who provides comprehensive care to women during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. The RN-Midwife offers prenatal education, assists in childbirth, and supports families in the transition to parenthood. This role requires a combination of nursing skills, midwifery knowledge, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prenatal Care:
- Conduct thorough assessments of pregnant patients, including medical history, physical exams, and laboratory tests.
- Provide education on prenatal nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle choices.
- Monitor fetal development and maternal health throughout the pregnancy.
2. Labor and Delivery:
- Assist women during labor by providing emotional support and pain management options.
- Perform deliveries in various settings, including hospitals, birthing centers, or home births.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs during labor and respond to any complications.
3. Postpartum Care:
- Provide care to mothers and newborns immediately after delivery.
- Educate parents on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
- Conduct follow-up visits to assess maternal and neonatal health.
4. Patient Education:
- Offer information on family planning, reproductive health, and gynecological issues.
- Promote health education regarding childbirth options and parenting.
5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Refer patients to specialists as needed for high-risk pregnancies or complications.
6. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Document care plans, assessments, and patient progress.
7. Advocacy:
- Advocate for women's health issues and promote access to midwifery care.

Qualifications:
- Current RN RM Nigerian license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
