qualifications:

• diploma or certication in occupational safety, engineering, or a related field.

• minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, with at least 1 year in a leadership position.

• safety certifications such as nebosh, iosh, or osha are strongly preferred.

• strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices.

• proven ability to identify safety hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

• excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

• ability to engage and motivate employees to prioritize safety.

• proficient in safety management systems, ms office, and other relevant software.

• strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety management.

key responsibilities:

• oversee and enforce safety policies, ensuring they comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

• conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.

• lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs and initiatives.

• provide guidance and support to employees on best safety practices and procedures.

• organize and conduct safety training sessions, workshops, and drills.

• investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and incidents, providing root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.

• maintain detailed safety records, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance.

• collaborate with department heads to implement effective safety measures across all operations.

• monitor the use of safety equipment and ppe (personal protective equipment) and ensure proper maintenance.

• ensure emergency preparedness by implementing and overseeing emergency response plans.

• track safety performance and provide regular reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement.
