This is a question I just have no idea on. I am wondering do people take there cars down with them to Mexico from the U.S. when living there. Or do most go without cars. Or do they get a scooter or some such thing? Thanks.
Yup, didnt mean to imply that getting a Mx drivers license was automatic when your USA one expires.. Its an easy process to get the Mx one. You need one or the other which is still valid. And you can have both at the same time. I dont know about ... Read More

I only know about cars, not scooters or motorcycles: Purchasing a Temp. Import Permit (TIP) is required at the border. It was about $350 when I went through in 2016. That fee is refunded if you leave Mexico before your visa expires. If you over-stay ... Read More

You can get super fat tires, thick padded seats and heavy duty suspensions. Since you have a motor there isnt so much of a weight penalty as there is with a conventional bike. Just try out a few models on roads similar to what you will be riding on. ... Read More

Not sure which VISA to apply for, temporary or permanent? by dbrown71467
My wife and I are relocating to Playa Del Carmen this year and are going through the process of obtaining our VISA. My wife qualifies for her permanent based on investment accounts. Me on the other hand it is confusing. It states that I either need ...
The only downside that I have seen to Permanente is that you have to sell outside of Mexico any vehicle that you have. Importing the vehicle is not worth the cost or hassle. If you eventually want to go to Permanente, no point in getting a Temporale ... Read More
