The north of Thailand still has so many places that are of-the-beaten-track. I loved exploring new areas and would spend most weekends discovering unfamiliar routes onto Suthep Mountain and Pui Mountain. I enjoyed being surrounded by lush forests; I never knew there were so many different shades of green.
People smile often, but the true meaning can be quite different. This isn't an issue if you're there for just a few months, but if you're looking for something less shallow, something more intellectual stimulating, then Thailand can be quite tiresome after a while.

loved the way people and nature go hand-in-hand; compared to other countries I have been to, I felt that that Australians have respect for their environment.
