Hello Expats! I'm an adventurous Texan happily married to a fun loving Belgian. We've lived in Belgium and the US. We will relocate our business...and ourselves :-) to the DR in about two years. We are currently trying to get "all of our ducks in a row" to make the jump. It would be fabulous to get some information from those who have successfully mastered being an Expat in the DR. If we could make some friends in the process, that would be ideal!! Our goal is to settle somewhere between Puerto Plata and Cabrera and have a more simple, laid back lifestyle. We'd like to grow our own veggies/fruit and share with our friends and neighbors. We tend to BBQ for friends a lot. Hopefully we can find a semi-quiet, friendly community to establish ourselves in.
