I'm from San Francisco, USA. Moved to Jakarta in 2009. For me, Indonesia provides a excellent place to start, learn and grow businesses from scratch without the heavy cost and red-tapes. Not saying it's the perfect place to do business, but it's a great place to learn and experiment. New opportunities are popping up everyday.
