I come from a tiny town on Mt. Desert Island, in Maine known for Acadia National Park. I've been gradually moving South, first to Arizona, then a bordertown in Sonora and finally ending up here in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, where I plan to stay. My husband is from a rancho here in Sinaloa but we met while he was working without permission in Arizona. I was already involved with a humanitarian group there on the border, putting out water in big tanks alongside the border fence and helping deported migrants and so when I became involved with my husband, Poncho I decided to make a brave leap over to this side of the border to enjoy the many pleasures of Mexican culture and to try to understand the shaky relationship between Mexico and the US.
