Dr. Donna Robinson is a British doctor who has lived in Thailand for almost 24 years, she speaks Thai and is a fully qualified Thai Medical Practitioner having passed the Thai Medical Examination in 1998. She runs MedConsult Expat and Travel Clinic which is located in Sukhumvit Soi 49. She came to Thailand in 1990, and worked with Thai NGO called ASIn on public health and HIV projects, followed by a 2 year time with UNICEF as HIV project officer. In 1998, she passed the Thai medical licence and became the regional medical director for Kimberly-Clark, her job covered the Asia Pacific countries. She opened Medconsult Asia in 2004 which started as an occupational health company, clients included Mattel, Nestle, Hanesbrands, Reuters, US Embassy,PCS, Siam Cement. However in 2008, friends suggested that she should be a doctor which is her best strength so she opened MedConsult Clinic which provides GP/family practice services for expatriates living in Thailand as well as back packers and tourists. Donna is from Newcastle upon Tyne in Northern England and at the age of 26 years in 1986 she left the UK to work in New Zealand. On her way back she spent 6 months working in Hong Kong and one evening when running on the Hash House Harriers she met her husband Ian Martin, a Scottish engineer. They have lived in Bangkok for 24 years and have 2 children, Sandy a son who is 19 years and is now studying engineering at Edinburgh University and Helena who is in her final year at Bangkok Patnac School. Dr. Donna Robinson also works in general practice at Bumrungrad Hospital on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings.
