Hi, My name is Patricia, or Patti as many call me, and although I'm born and bred in England, I am presently living in Portugal. However, I am seriously thinking about moving to Malta (Gozo actually) to live and my only concern is the following,: I have been bringing up my eleven year old granddaughter since she was born, and am concerned about her education. She has been studying in Portuguese for the last three years, and has just moved up to senior school (she is eleven years old and in Portugal they changed schools a year earlier than in England). I want her to study in English, but believe that all the state schools in Malta teach mainly in Maltese. I don't want to put her through learning yet another language, but on the other hand respect the fact that one should try to integrate in the country in which you live by respecting the local language and learning it. What would be the possibilities of her studing in English, taking into consideration that I am a pensioner, and not a very wealthy one. I would appreciate any feedback. By the way, my intention is to move to Gozo next June (2015). Thank you in advance for hearing be out.
