I just moved to Cali and I'm keen to interact with other english speaking people...and generally make friends :) I am a 46yr old female who has visited Colombia many times previously and love the culture, music and people :)
I joined expat.com on 18 August 2010.
Hi All, I have some Colombian friends here that I have known for a long time. I have been here in Colombia many times, but usually for 3 months at a time. This time, I would like to expand my horizons and not be so fearful to get out and about. I'd like to make friends of my own and enjoy all that Cali has to offer. More than anything, I'd like a friend to chat to, go to the movies with and to drink and be merry with.
Cali is awesome!
At times, I feel a little isolated because my Spanish is not A1. I can get around, but I would like to broaden my circle of friends.
As part of my 6 month adventure through South America, I decided to head to the top of Chile after having climbed Torres del Paine in the far South. Such an amazing place to experience with the most breathtaking landscapes that I have ever encountered in my traveling life! San Pedro de Atacama stole my heart. A dusty people lined street through the centre, quaint little tiendas, loads of tourists in search of "something". I found a peace and tranquility there that I am yet to find in other places. Truly beautiful.
peaceful and out of this world picturesque
Too many tourists at times :)
I took off after work in London and stayed 3 months on Patmos Island, which I loved. The food, the relaxed lifestyle. I did not want to leave, but the money ran out, so on I went to Eastern Europe.
Greek Islands are so pretty, the cost of living back then before the Euro was phenomenally inexpensive
Too many tourists at times :)
I did the "Australian backpacking" break for a year and traveled throughout Europe and lived and worked in London and Northern Ireland. Such a great adventure it was, but so long ago now!
The UK and Europe need no introduction, but I suppose for me and for me at that time of my life, it was a NEW adventure out on my own, exploring the world.
