I'm Tom. I moved to Gib in June 2015, initially for a one year secondment with the engineering firm I work for, but with a view to perhaps staying if all goes well. This will be my biggest move yet after migrating north from Bournemouth to Essex and then to Edinburgh three years ago. Feel free to say hi and to offer tips on where to eat, drink and be merry. I'd also appreciate any recommendations for a Spanish teacher, ballroom dancing classes and courses in wine tasting.
I joined expat.com on 20 April 2015.
I worked for three years as an Engineer on the new Queensferry Crossing road bridge.
Edinburgh is a beautiful, cultural city. There is some great walking nearby and plenty to do to keep you busy near to the city.
The weather mainly. Also the lack of cafes and restaurants in Fife, where I was living. The fact that shops, bars, everything close really early - even in the centre of Edinburgh.
