I'm 24, from Dorset, South England; I moved in with my French boyfriend in 2009, he'd moved to Lyon just one year previously so neither of us know anybody here and would love to meet some other locals. I still speak very little french so I'd like to meet people to practice and learn. We got PACSed in 2011 and it's quite a complicated process so I'm available if any expats would like advice or help with the papers. I'm a stay at home Mum to our daughter born in 2012 so I'm quite a busy bee :)
I joined expat.com on 15 September 2010.

I live in a tiny 1 bed flat with my native boyfriend. Mostly I stay in and keep myself busy with crafts and cooking, but occasionally I'll drag my dear boyfriend out to see some of the city - we are both very much homebodies!
I love the history and culture, especially Vieux Lyon, it stinks of rich history and I love it. The food is fantastic, I never knew a simple salad could be so amazing. The shops are great, the majority of people seem friendly, it's just a pretty lovely city.
Is it just me or do people switch off their brains while driving trolleys around supermarkets here? Also while driving their cars, the roads here are quite scary! But I suppose that happens in any city.
I've lived in this small seaside town for all of my life. I grew up here and it'll always be home to me.
Poole is an absolutely beautiful place (just like it says in the tourism ads). It's right on the coast and deep in history. The people are friendly, it's quite peaceful, and again, beautiful :)
Trying not to sound too much like an old lady, but the youth. The loud obnoxious types who drink, smoke and swear too much and are generally the scum of society. They're just a small percent of the youth obviously, but they seem to congregate in the town centre and somewhat ruin what is otherwise a wonderful place to be.
