My teenage daughter and I are planning a year in Edinburgh while I am on academic sabbatical leave from the University of Maryland.

Mon parcours
I've been offered a fellowship to work at the University of Edinburgh for the academic year 2022-2023 and then again in summer 2024. Looking for an enriching school and extracurricular experience for my daughter who I think would place into form S6.
Great academic environment, new city and countryside to explore, green and wet, wool sweaters, single malt, bicycling and hiking opportunities, cultural explorations, travel explorations in the UK and perhaps in Europe.
Professor at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, owner/upkeeper of 87 year old house and 7 kitchen ferments, three chickens and two cats, widowed parent to teenage girls.
Close-in DC metro suburbs: 30 minutes to the Capitol, international and cultural diversity, deer and 150 year old beech trees in the front yard, knowing my neighbors, keeping chickens.
