Hello! My name is Katelyn, and I am an anticipative future expat currently residing in Calgary, Canada. I have my fair share of travel experience, including a 3 month living stint in Cape Town, South Africa. With ExpatBlog I'm hoping to make friends, network, and build relationships abroad, with an ultimate goal of being able to return to Cape Town as a proper expat! Looking forward to meeting all of you!

I would like to be able to complete my degree online while in Cape Town, alongside being able to further my career in the social services and human welfare sectors. There is a lot of untapped potential in Cape Town for aid projects, and I would absolutely love to be a part of that movement.
On top of being geographically beautiful, Cape Town was one of the friendliest and most vibrant cities I have ever travelled to. Almost everyone I came into contact with was willing to spare a smile and some of their time chatting, even if it were in an inane conversation.
I think the crime rate is an obvious flaw that comes with the city. Taking those extra precautions to guard from being a victim of crime can be exhausting, yet necessary. Corruption is also prevalent enough that it is visible in every day life.
