Settled in Manizales in 2014. Form teacher for Grade 11 in a private school and teach part-time at the Autonoma University. Spend my spare time with my family, including two cats and writing novels. Recently published a book of short stories, Small Lives, Big World and just finished a novel set in a fictitious country which is a cross between Colombia and Panama.

Writing and teaching
Hardworking, polite people. Amazing landscapes.
Transport and infrastructure leave a lot to be desired. Bureaucracy can be difficult. Raggaeton (yuck!).

Did not have a happy experience on the whole. However, the one shining exception was meeting my wife, Paula!
Overwhelmingly negative experience...the list is too long to put down here

Lovely quiet place in Winter and I enjoyed strolling on the deserted beach with two stray dogs for company.
Montevideo is nothing special and I didn't have a car so transport was frustrating!
Writing and teaching and doing a diploma in Racehorse training
Amazing landscapes, easygoing people.
Shamefully, I didn't take the opportunity to see more of it.

Working in business development
Fabulous people and I got to travel a lot in Africa for work. Great way of life. I loved it.
Sadly, my work contract didn't work out how I had planned and I never got to see more of this wonderful country
