Masters research
The vibe in districts like Charlottenburg, Schöneberg and Wilmersdorf, reliving the 1920s
Over-hyped places like Prenzlauer Berg and the philosophy that went into "shaping" it.
university degree
Going back to a place I visited briefly when I was twelve and reconnecting; the friendships made and lessons learned.
working on a project that changed my entire life
The ability to reconnect with people from my (not so) distant past, following up on a dream with all it consequences
too many to get into
Learning about life, glib, blasé and overused as it sounds. But there's a lot to be said for making your first place away from home. Bonding with my brother. And overall, way too many things discovered and uncovered to get into here. But feel free to ask.
college
Home, family, the vibe of the city, exploring different aspects and seeing places I knew and remembered from childhood through the eyes of a more grown up person
Shuttling back and forth between USA and Europe
That being a Third Culture Kid didn't really matter because everyone had so much genetic makeup in their families' past that being the passport holder of one country but having the heritage of several others not only didn't matter but actually made you blend in and feel at home.
