I spent my childhood traveling all over the U.S. because my father was in the Army and Air Force. I don't remember much of it, unfortunately, because during that time I was very young. We settled down in my mother's home town and I spent the rest of my childhood there. I would watch my father leave to go to foreign countries that seemed so mysterious and fascinating to me and wish I could go with him. I hated that we had to be left behind in that small city where nothing very exciting took place. My greatest excursion in my teens was going to the capital city of our state to live, which felt akin to going to New York for me compared to where I was from. I still live in this city and love it, especially as I've seen it grow into a more diverse, interesting place with music, art, and culture. There are many different nationalities here and I cherish their presence. However, I've always dreamed of traveling the globe and immersing myself in many different cultures and meeting countless beautiful people. I've spent most of my life making excuses for why I can't travel or live abroad. I'm getting older and have spent a lot of time taking care of others, but not nurturing my own gifts and passions, so now is the time to change that. :) Any information you can share with me about your experiences as an Expat would be much appreciated. I look forward to getting to know you and perhaps, one day, possibly meeting some of you in person.
