I am a 3rd generation New Yorker. As a kid I traveled around often with my parents. Few trips over to Europe and cross-country USA. My mother traveled around the world as a solo female traveler when she was about 20 - Travel is in my blood. As much as I liked to move around growing up I really wanted to get to know a region as a local not a tourist. After graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2000 I traveled through Europe for about 6 weeks. I got to meet with friends and family overseas - some that I hadn't seen in a long time others that I met for the first time. Meeting my cousins in Sicily for the 1st time is what kickstarted the idea of moving. I wanted to move to Italy at first (the laws for chiropractors made it too difficult to get in). I wound up in Pula, (Istria) Croatia on February 19th, 2007.
