I retired as a librarian from the Brooklyn Public Library, moved to Portland, OR because I wanted to live in a progressive city where you don't need a car. I like Portland, though rents here are becoming untenable for me. I'm very active physically - walking, golf, tennis, Tai Chi - though, at 70, I am slowing down and prefer reading and museum going with some physical activity. I have 3 elderly cats who are foundlings from the streets of NY and live indoors only. I want to find a place where I can live comfortably (though frugally) and have access to a new culture and like-minded people. I also want to become fluent in Spanish.
