Now living in Brisbane, Australia, I am a supply chain professional with extensive experience across all areas of that field. My wife is retired, but has an Associate Diploma in Child Studies she would like to put to good use in Cambodia.Looking to make a move overseas in the next couple of years where we can live comfortably and make a difference to the local community.

We'd like to get involved in community work and creating jobs/carrer paths for locals.
We have traveled to Siem Reap twice and loved it both times. Our favorite destination in Asia, it may well prove to be something we want to do permanently.
As a tourist, nothing I can recall.
Work and catching up with friends.
The vibe and the nightlife - a great support community. Good public transport. Cheaper to live than most captal cities in Australia.
People can be disconnected - too many with heads down, earbuds in and faces in their phones. This won't be a problem if you find the right group of friends or work colleagues.
Working for Bechtel Australia, an EPCM on the Hay Point Project.

Everything in Mackay is overpriced by about 25% - a result of inflated prices driven by the mining boom in the area - now that has passed, housing prices have dropped dramatically. Social opportunities are limited.
Born, lived and worked here most of my life.
Incredible beaches and many of the perks of big city living without the price tag and frantic pace. Many former Sydney residents downsize to Newcastle which has more affordable housing and living costs.
Although the city has improved dramatically in the last 10 years, it still suffers from a parochial "country" mentality - locals are generally adverse to "change" and critical of those who suggest it.
