I was originally born in Mexico, but I grew up in the USA. My life and roots are in the U.S. but my heritage is Mexican. In the past 5 years I've been traveling to Tijuana and Rosarito about twice a month to claim and take care of a property I got through my family roots. The clean up and building process is still ongoing, but the more I visit, the more comfortable I become. I'm not quite of retirement age, but I am considering moving there and working in San Diego until I retire. I love my people, their love for family and life is uplifting. When I return to the states, it feels so quiet and clinical...no life on the streets. But I do love the cleanliness of the U.S. and the infrastructure like roads with no holes. It's all a give and take in life. I'm working on creating an assisted living home for U.S. retirees who get live on a very small social security pension. I want to create the kind of retirement environment I would like for myself (since I will end up using it). My father retired there, and became ill, so I took over. This has given me such insight into the local resources, people and the needs of people who retire on a very small income, as was my father's case. I hope to make the full time transition within the next two years.
