My name is Steve. I am from Los Angeles, California. I lived in Boise, Idaho for many years and worked for a company that brought me to China (long story). I worked for them from 1994 to 2011, 2003 to 2011 in Shanghai and Suzhou, China. Big company bought the small company I was working for and had 10s of thousands of Chinese employees so one stand-alone engineer was "over-kill" so employment ended. Went back to the U.S. for 3 years, returning to China to be with my wife and son in 2014. I am a guy with a lot of interests in various fields. Not a 'schooled' engineer but was blessed with an aptitude for most things mechanical. In "Languages I can speak" I mentioned Vietnamese. I was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam from late 1969 until later in 1971. Returned to Vietnam as a civilian doing helicopter maintenance and to be with my Vietnamese wife, 2 daughters and 3 adopted sons. Learned Vietnamese out of necessity while totally immersed in the culture. And no, I am semi-retired so not looking for work at the moment so the above was now a resume. I now have a 6 1/2-year-old son born in China to my Chinese wife and myself in Suzhou. He and I currently live in Daliang, Shunde, Guangdong and he is in the first grade in a pretty good school. He is a very good student, doing very well in his studies. We are both "TIGERS" in the Chinese zodiac, born 60 years apart, me in 1950 and he in 2010. Lucky me huh? His mother lives and works in Dongguan as QC manager for a Chinese company. I showed Married with children in my profile but we don't see his mother very often so it could swing either way, single or married, though for my own longevity, it's best to keep myself locked in the married category.
I am a male.
