After Living and working in Spain and Mexico plus various places in the States, I decided to retire to Mexico. Coatepec is in the highlands 15 min. from Xalapa, the capital of Veracriz. Some of the finest coffee in the world comes from here. It's a quiet, easygoing place with friendly people. The weather is on the hot and humid side but not oppressively so. Winter nights might call for heat. Photos of places in Mexico and other travels can be found at http://www.barrygriefer.com/
I joined expat.com on 11 May 2009.

Absorb the culture. Use it as a base for further travel in Mexico.
Architecture, history, culture. Numerous cultural events every month. Living close to historic center, everything is within walking distance.
