Hello Expat.com!!!! I am a 35 year old mom to a wonderful and amazing 5 year old who's Autistic. Years ago I was able to teach ESL through a non profit organization. I also was apart of a team that developed a dual after school program for parents and students. I'd gone on to further my experience where I worked an after school program and day care for children with special needs. During this time I was mandated to take classes every couple of months to keep my skills updated. I was born in Detroit MI, and moved to New York State in 2008. Then I moved to New York City in 2013 and I've been here ever since. I am currently a Culinary Arts student in Manhattan. I love to cook. I love being able to create and through my creation make people happy. I currently put together a business plan to have my own catering operation. Problem with that is there aren't a lot of grants that I can get since I haven't been operating for over a year. I've been told several times throughout my life that I have a brilliant mind. Yet I haven't had the chance or opportunity to show that because I don't meet the credentials of having a degree. Personally I feel that a degree doesn't measure the level of brilliance. It measures how well you're good at doing what your being told. There have been many brilliant people throughout history who accomplished their greatness before a degree was thought of. I feel that people should be able to express their genius without limitations. You don't build great nations by telling them what they can't do. Great nations are built because of what they can do. Who am I? I am ME.
