I followed friends to Honduras island of Roatan in 2004. spend 6 months on roatan island. Flew back to florida, met with family and friends. I missed my friends on Roatan, and moved to Roatan, Met my now Wife, Libni. We were married 2007. we filed for my residency in 2007. I hired a lawyer from San Pedro Sula to complete it, supposedly in 6 months. 2 years later it was not done, she gave excuses like sick family members etc. I told her if she could not complete it in a timely manner refund my money I paid her to complete my residency that she did not do. She said OK. and that was the last i heard of her. She would not answer my phone calls, or emails. I had to file a denuncia against her, 6 years later she returned my money, after the police threatened her. I have Lived in Honduras for 13 years now, with my Honduran wife for 10 years. we own property on roatan. Everything that has to do with government here is next to impossible to complete for one reason or another. I sometimes feel like giving up on dealing with honduras government. As I feel like they look at me like a parasite looks at a host, how to get some more blood out of me. I can't just pack up and leave, I have too much invested here. Family, friends and property. Enough for now, I have around a hundred pages of documentation on migracion and lawyers here corrupt to the core.
